Can't Wait!

What is it that you can’t wait for?  I am not talking about earthly stuff like “I can’t wait until my kids are done with school” or “I can’t wait until I have grand children”.  No I am talking about when Jesus comes, what can’t you wait for?  I am sure all of us want to meet Jesus.  I am sure all of us want to have those awesome reunions with our loved ones.  I am even sure that meeting all those that the Bible tells us about will be in that category of, “I can’t wait”.

This week I have been reminded multiple times how I can’t wait for illness and death to be completely destroyed when Jesus comes.  Rev. 21:4 --"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."  Yes please!  No more illness!  No more death! Yippee!  Come Sweet Jesus. I can't wait! 

When I imagine illness and death being destroyed I think of a time when my brother and I were playing in the sandbox in my grandparents back yard.  This was back when children lived outdoors during the summer.  We didn’t know what cell phones were and we only had a few tv channels.  On this particular day we had taken grandma’s spatulas outside to play with them in the sandbox.  We were having a great time flinging sand at army men hiding in the sand castles.  Then it happened…

A bee landed on my leg and stung me.  As I was screaming (I was young sorry) my brother saw what happened and locked his eyes on the bee which had jumped off my leg.  He then proceeded to take the spatula and completely annihilate the bee.  By the time he was finished swinging the spatula the bee was in zillions of pieces.  There was not a trace of the bee.  The bee was completely obliterated.

That is what God is going to do to illness and death.  Illness and death have hurt His children.  He will absolutely destroy everything that hurts us.  The destruction of "the bee" will be nothing compared to when God gets done with illness & death.  I can’t wait!  There will be no more suffering.  No more pain.  No more dying.  No more crying.  Won't that be amazing.  

I am ready!  Are you ready for it?
