He Will Answer

From Pastor Joseph Wamack
One of the most annoying technological things around is the automated voice answering services that kick in when you call a business.
I just spent twenty minutes on hold on the phone with the water company, trying to straighten out the church’s water bill.
They play this really bad music, which makes me want to give up listening to music forever, and then the music pauses. My hope is that a real person will say, “May I help you?” But instead it is a recorded voice telling me that my call is very important to them, and I should hang on and my call will be answered in the order in which it was received. Then it goes back to the horrible disco/80s electronic drums music and repeats ad nauseam.
I finally hung up because I reached the church, and it had been practically 25 minutes. I will try getting help online I guess.
There is something that is important to us and that is to connect and talk to the people we want to connect and talk to.
It might be your spouse, parents, kids, co-workers, other family or friends. Connecting to important people is important.
I like to think my call is important. I want to think I am important to someone. I don’t want to feel all alone. “Is anybody out there?!” my heart calls out.
I like this verse. God must have foreseen being put “on hold” and said this verse on purpose:
“‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’”
Jeremiah 33:3
Yes! I can call on Him and He will answer! I can call on Him and be assured of my importance to Him.
I can call on Him and not only will He listen, BUT….He will tell me great and powerful things I don’t know! What a great God! He cares! He answers! He informs! He guides!
God never puts us “on hold”. But He does hold us - in His care. And for that I am thankful. Remember this verse. Hold on to it. Cling to it as a Truth you need. Call to Him. His Promise? He will answer!
Do you need Him today? Call. He will answer.
