Thoughts from our team...

MAC Runs on Volunteers

June 13, 2024

From Jackie Payne

I am VBS-tired! Ask any of the volunteers from this week (at least the adults), and I think they will agree. But it’s such an important ministry for these kiddos - a full week devoted to learning about how real and loving and forgiving and never-ending God is. Our volunteers spent a week planting seeds for Jesus. It may have been through organizing a craft or leading out in a song or creating a video or teaching a Bible story or holding a crying child or serving snacks…but it was all about planting seeds for Jesus.

Our volunteers make church happen! From VBS to adult and children’s Sabbath Schools to greeters and potluck helpers to deacons and deaconesses to elders and youth leaders to musicians and the AV team and everyone in between - it takes many people to make church happen and spread the gospel of Jesus.

Romans 12:4-8 says:

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Your gifts are needed to plant more seeds and spread the gospel.

If you aren’t currently serving somewhere and you feel the Holy Spirit nudging you, please talk to Pastor Joe, Pastor Eileen or myself. We’d love to find out which team you’d like to be a part of and how you can make a positive influence in our church and local community.
