From Jackie Payne
Have you ever received a text or call or note from someone saying that they are praying for you? Maybe the person knows you’ve got something going on or maybe it’s seemingly out of the blue (aka The Holy Spirit). Doesn’t it feel encouraging to know someone is thinking about you and praying for you?
This week I’ve been the recipient of some of these encouraging texts and hugs and calls, and I have felt the Holy Spirit fill me up when I needed it through these. It’s amazing how God can use something so small to shine a light, to point someone to Him, to redirect sadness or longing or anger or fear. Â
It makes me want to share that same encouragement with others, to pay attention when the Holy Spirit prompts me to reach out to someone, even if I have no idea why. Will you pay attention today? Will you reach out to the person that God has laid on your heart to text them or call them or walk to their desk or send them a note?
1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Let’s be encouraging to each other, in our families, friendships, church family, workplaces and neighborhoods. Let’s be a reflection of Jesus!
