The God of Angel Armies

From Jackie Payne
The song Whom Shall I Fear is one that can easily bring me to tears. The visual of knowing that my God, the Creator of the Universe, goes before me into any difficult thing and makes a way for me, is powerful.
Pause for a moment and picture walking into something difficult:
a conversation a doctor’s appointment a sick loved one’s room
staring at a stack of bills, wondering how you're ever going to pay these the thoughts running rampant in your own head
and Jesus walks before you there. He was there before your day started. He was there before you even knew "it" was a thing of concern.
This week as I was finishing up the book of Deuteronomy, this verse caught my attention and made me think of this song:
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 (emphasis added)
If Moses could say this to Joshua before a huge group of people moved into the Promised Land, fulfilling a promise very long in the making, how can it not also be true for my life?
Take courage today, friends. Whatever you are facing, be it the normal things of life that can become a burden or a loved one’s struggle or your mental health or a decision that you need to make that can change your whole life, you have the God of angel armies on your side going before you and standing behind you. He will be faithful and stand with you through everything.
